RE-RUN OF SENIOR CUP FINAL AWAITS YELLOWS NEXT

NEWARK & SHERWOOD V HUCKNALL TOWN

GCE HIRE FLEET UCL PREMIER NORTH

TUESDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER 2025 19.45 KO

MATCH PREVIEW

Hucknall travel to Harrowby FC to take on tenants Newark & Sherwood this Tuesday evening fast on the heels of exiting the FA Vase at Lutterworth Town where more injuries were picked up to add to the ever growing casualty list.
Newark & Sherwood have a league record so far of
played 9 winning 2 drawing 3 and losing 4 with a GD of  minus 7 to lie in 17th place just 1 point above the drop zone. However victory for the hosts would see them leap frog the Yellows.
7 of those points came in their first 3 league games.
Wins have come against Heanor Town (away 2 1) and AFC Mansfield (home 2 1)
Draws have come against Eastwood CFC on opening day (away 1 1) Rivals Newark Town (away 2 2)and Deeping Rangers (home 2 2)
Defeats have come against Belper United (home 0 2), Landlords Harrowby United (away 1 4), Wisbech Town (away 0 2) and Skegness Town (away 0 2)
6 league games without a win after a bright start.
They have fared much better in the cups.
In the FA Cup they defeated GNG Oadby Town (away 4 1) before bowing out at  Boston Town 4 1 after a goal less draw at home.
In the FA Vase they beat ingles on penalties after a 1 1 draw at home. On Saturday they beat Louth Town 1 nil at home to progress to the first round proper.
In the League cup They defeated Swallows Nest 1 nil at home to set up a home tie with Atherstone Town in the next round.
Hucknall's league record now reads
played 9 winning 3 drawing 2and losing 4 with a GD of minus 3 to lie in 12th.
We can now concentrate on the league as we are out of all these cups until we begin our defence of the Notts Senior Cup. Of course Newark & Sherwood played their part in that incredible final and will be seeking pay back.
Safe travels to everyone making the trip of which I hope to be one.
