EASTWOOD CFC V HUCKNALL TOWN
GCE HIRE FLEET UCL PREMIER NORTH
SATURDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER 2025 15.00 KO
MATCH PREVIEW
Hucknall make the short journey to Coronation Park to take on local rivals Eastwood CFC a fixture the fans always look forward to.
Eastwood came up short in the play offs last year losing out to Boston Town and are expected to be up in the top area come the end of the season.
However they have made a mediocre start to the season with a league record that reads:
played 8 winning 2 drawing 3 and losing 3 with a GD of minus 3
The 2 wins have come against Ashby Ivanoe (away 3 1) and Sherwood Colliery (3 2 at Home)
Draws have come against Newark and Sherwood on opening day (home 1 1), Skegness (away 1 1) and tenants Belper United (away 3 3)
Defeats have come against Blackstones (away 0 2), Heanor Town (away 3 1) and Newark Town (home 0 2)
In the cups Eastwood have done well.
FA Cup. Beat Gresley Rovers after a 2 2 home draw and 0 0 away draw, 4 2 on penalties. In the next round they defeated Coton green 4 nil away. Grimsby Borough brought the run to an end winning 2 1 at Eastwood.
FA Vase. Beat Leicester ST Andrews 2 nil away last Saturday and have Irchester United away in the next round.
In the Knock out cup they beat Melton Town 3 1 at home and have Bugbrooke ST Michaels at home in the next round.
In the Notts Senior Cup they have beaten Newark Town away 3 1
Hucknall's league record now reads
Played 10 winning 4 drawing 2 and losing 4 with a GD of plus 1.
Hucknall will be hoping to continue their good form at Eastwood where they have won the last 2 seasons. Eastwood will be looking to gain ground on the teams above them.
Unfortunately I will be away for this one and also the Heanor game so cheer the lads on for me.
